The board image is printed on wood grain cardboard. The single 'W' board was introduced circa 1890. Features two vignettes; on the left depicts a hunter and Indian guide, while the right side is a cowboy with Winchester Model 1897 rifle using his dead horse for cover. Center artwork depicts two hanging ducks. CONDITION: Fine condition with no signs of any inpainting. There are some light scratches and a few extraneous holes, all very small with a purposeful application. The second case from right is missing the bullet. The second and seventh cartridges on left side are missing their bullets. Appears as though most of the cases have been lightly cleaned but there are no missing cartridges. The frame, while definitely period, is not the original oak frame that it would have come in. Extremely fine and rare board in good, clean condition that would benefit from a better frame, and a few of the cartridges need their wires slightly tightened. It seems as though these rare promotional cartridge boards are skyrocketing in value as every gun room needs an example, and this example is far better than most. With a little work, this board could be world class.
