These helmets were used by both Cromwellian forces and Charles I loyalists during the English Civil War. Blackened iron throughout. Iconic lobster tail neck defense of 3 lames, ear guards on leather straps, 3 bar face guard bolted to visor, which is itself bolted to skull. 1-piece skull with comb. Rolled edges at visor, ear guards, and lobster tail. Mounted on a modern stand. CONDITION: Overall very good, with some scattered spots of patination throughout, but solid and free of holes. Leather of a later period is stiff but strong and serviceable. Mount is very good as made later with some minor handling marks. One of the quintessential English helms. EMW
