Scarce pre-Prohibition eight-color porcelain corner sign. Only two known to exist, this one being the much better example. Kaltenbach Brewing Co.'s "Excelsior Brewery". Excelsior Brewery operated from 1887 to 1906. Incredibly ornate and colorful design, depicting the New York State seal, for a porcelain sign from this time period. CONDITION: The sign is in amazing condition and clean overall, with very minor wear around the grommet holes and edges. Normal wear on the backside of the sign. One of the best pre-Prohibition porcelain corner signs known.
