Lot #1120:
HITCHED HORSEHAIR WALLA WALLA PRISON BRIDLE, HATBAND AND CANE
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2025
A very scarce grouping of items believed to be made by the same inmate of Walla Walla, Washington Penitentiary. A fabulous bridle in amazing condition with candy cane striping and diamond design flat elements, brow, nose and cheeks. Covered glass conchos, all retaining excellent colors. The leather connectors and the celluloid rings all show little if any use. The unused 23" hatband or cowgirl (youth) belt has the matching colors of the bridle, brown orange, etc. and repeats the diamond pattern. It is full 1 1/2" wide with loop ends. The cane is 35" long in matching bright colors including a pair of American flags, a horn handle inlaid with abalone. A wonderful collection of the horsehair hitcher's art.
Item Dimensions: 35" L.
