Lot consists of: (A) M1881 Artillery Musician's Full dress helmet with red/white feathered plume and cords. Original and correct body and equipment with legible and clear HORSTMANN PHILA. stamp on underside of leather sweatband with gold gilt die struck artillery side buttons. (B) M1881 New York National Guard Cavalry "Troop C" enlisted dress helmet with older style orange/yellow horsehair plume. Retains nice and legible RIDABOCK & CO. label under plume base in crown. (C) A well-executed recreation of a Model 1872 Cavalry officer's dress helmet utilizing old and new parts. The body, visor facings and leather visor trim are of recent manufacture, the leather chinstrap and gold gilt cavalry side buttons are from an original enlisted Model 1881 dress helmet. The metal fittings appear to be original as do the chest cords and yellow hair plume. CONDITION: Overall excellent.
