American. Includes original hat, pipe, and clothing. Comes with an extremely nice original tag in the shape of spinach box and marked "Spinach that makes Popeye Strong" and "Popeye an Effanbee Doll". The box of the tag depicts a cartoon of Popeye and is marked "Copyright 1935 by Fleischaker & Baum". One slight half-inch tear hole to left side of Popeye's neck.
