Complete six piece "Etui" in shagreen fitted case. Top of case has sterling escutcheon. Bottom of case has damage from improper insertion. Damage can be easily repaired, loose piece of shagreen is included, which could be easily reattached. Kit also includes a needle signed "W. Smith & Sons", an all metal cased cork screw, and three folding blades handled in genuine tortoise. Blades include: a 3-3/8" one blade "springless" stamped with two symbols which resemble a surgical instrument; a 4-1/4" one blade "springless" which resembles a surgical instrument; and a 6-1/4" one blade which could be described as a straight razor with a very unusual blade tang stamped "BER" with a small pistol figure. Razors circa 1800. Lot also includes three high relief hall marked sterling handled shaving brushes. Two are hollow handled for the purpose of holding powder. All three are profusely decorated, one with birds and scrolls, one with a knight in armor, and one with lavish scroll. Circa mid-19th century.
