Pre-war. Lionel standard gauge freight set #423E consisting of a black 400E loco and 400T tender, 211 flat car, 212 maroon gondola with 13 original barrels, 214 yellow and orange box car , 213 orange and pea green cattle car, 215 scarce white tank car, 216 green hopper, and 217 red and peacock caboose. Exceptionally clean and all original set. Crisp individual boxes with rare, crisp set box. 217 caboose shows minor wear with grade excellent to excellent plus. Rest of set is in like-new condition and is all original. Set box is complete and in excellent plus condition, showing only very minor wear. All individual boxes are in beautiful condition and are complete. Overall a rare and hard-to-find set.
