Late post-war. O-gauge. Extremely rare. Lionel's number designation is X573NA. Set was made in very small numbers. According to the Greenburg book this is variation 2 of the Channel Master Promotional Sets. There were 682 total sets made with various substitutions for accessories and cars. Fascinating variation including 464 lumber mill, 3535 security car, 243 plastic steam locomotive with smoke and liquid fluid, 1130T tender, 6812 track maintenance car with black bottom, 3376 giraffe car with original sealed pack and a 6162-1 blue gondola with white canisters. Set includes original Channel Master card that reads "Channel Master works wonders in sight and sound antennas, radios, hi-fi tubes." Great piece of Lionel paperwork. 243 locomotive box is mint with outer sleeve. All cars were never run. Set is near mint to mint. All boxes are beautiful with just a slight tear on 6812 track maintenance car flap. 464 lumber mill is mint in the box. Set box is excellent to excellent plus. This is a wonderful post war oddity.
