American. Circa 1918. Composition head, original clothing, and cast metal shoes or feet. Small label sewn on back of jacket reads “Ferguson Novelty Co. New York.” Charlie is holding a cane in one hand and a cigar or cigarette in the other. Jacket is slightly faded with some soiling on back, minor cracking on both sides of head near ear and slight chipping to hat. Rare toy. Collection of Carl Lobel.
