Patent #231,912, dated Sept. 7, 1880, belongs to one Jorgen Irgens of Bergen, Norway. This Irgen's glass minnow measures 4-1/2", 7" overall, and retains most of its interior silver coating along with having very clean fins, tail, and head detailing, as well as the original red paint…making this one of the finer known examples of this early "fish hook". The 1880 Irgens patent was very clearly Ernest Pflueger's inspiration for his 1883 patent for the Crystal Minnow!
JORGEN IRGENS GLASS MINNOW, C1880, BERGEN, NORWAY.
