This spectacular trade sign was made in 1897 by Silas West from Haverhill, Massachusetts. Silas made these signs to be put up on walls, buildings and barns to advertise local businesses. This sign is very unique, having a 3 dimensional and life like appearance. Very few have survived and the one offered here is one of the best known examples. This sign is advertising a hardware and implement store and most likely has a Maine origin. The colors are strong with some mild wear and soiling. There are a few areas of light surface and body rust to the courtesy panel with minor scratching and paint nicks. The sign has a great patina and would be a highlight in anyones collection.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 77'' x 46''.
