A whimsical papier mache Crosley Pup being a seated Bonzo with earphones upon his head & a paper label advertising Crosley Products. Obviously manufacturers of the time period utilized the popularity of certain celebrities and/or cartoon characters to sell their wares such as is the case with this item. Most likely this was displayed in the store that sold the Crosley product and the intent being to garner the attention of a prospective buyer.The 2nd Bonzo is of German manufacture stamped on the underside and was to be utilized as a bank for the child of the period. Unusual in nature this fellow has a wobbling spring tongue as well as glasses which in itself is odd as Bonzo always appeared to have his eyes closed? Glue spot on top of head indicates that at some point in time he most likely had some type of hat or derby.
