This is an exquisite, 1/72nd scale plastic model of the U.S. military transport plane, widely used since World War II. The Allied invasion stripes and serial number of this particular model identify it as the plane belonging to the 94th Squadron, 439th TCG, USAAF, in the Normandy invasion, June 1944. It is mounted on a teardrop base.
