This trade sign was made in 1897 by Silas West from Haverhill, Massachusetts. Silas made these signs to be put up on walls, buildings and barns to advertise local businesses. This sign is very unique, having a 3 dimensional and life like appearance. Very few of these signs have surfaced. This example has been repainted and says “Here it is” on the climbers bag. There is a moderate amount of scraping and paint loss throughout the sign.
