This machine, circa early 20th century, would have been attached to an exterior wall perhaps in a train station or in a location where tourists frequented. By depositing the proper German coin then turning the knob one would then receive postcards in a tray at the bottom of the machine. The product is displayed in a large window so one knew what they were purchasing. The front iron casting is quite ornate with a bevy of filigree, a cherubs head looking down upon the product window and various porcelain plaques with instructions/information. In original exterior paint finish the mechanism is accessed through a door on the right side of the machine. Original mechanism has been updated with one of more recent vintage but functions quite well. As is typical these early European machines are quite visually attractive & interesting!

Condition: (Very Good).
