Circa 1870. Overall length 36-1/2". Yellow gold handle with large round piece of black gold quartz inset in the top. Nice big piece, very high with beveled edge. Quartz is in fine condition, just a few normal hairline stress cracks. Gold knob is engraved overall with floral and geometric patterns, inscribed "To my father from his son Phillip". Beautiful snakewood shaft. This is a rare exotic wood. German silver tip with steel walking end.
