Rifled bore, traces of Justice’s mark on top of barrel, near breech. Flat lock plate with tail section rounded, stamped with an Eagle over “US” and “P.S. JUSTICE/PHILADA” in center. Unique brass trigger guard with sling swivel, small two-piece patchbox, butt plate, lock screw escutcheons and two brass barrel bands, steel ramrod. Walnut stock. Good condition. Barrel with light grey spotted patina and pitting around breech, barrel cut down from 39” to 31”, proofs have worn away, along with date and markings on lock tang, lock bolster and hammer replaced, contemporary brown finish. Brass has been cleaned and stock sanded with scattered marks from use.
