Damascus two-stage blunderbuss barrel with patent breech, marked “MANCHESTER” on top flat, but devoid of proofs. Complete with attached spring bayonet with 11” triangular blade and release on barrel tang. Flat percussion lockplate with stamped scroll patterns and indistint markings. Engraved steel mounts. Full-length figured walnut stock with checkered wrist. Steel ramrod with integral brass tip. Good condition, all steel surfaces with grey patina and light to medium pitting, markings worn. Bayonet functions well, spring probably replaced. hammer is a period replacement, lock tail and barrel tang are not flush with wood, both need to be adjusted. Stock good with scattered dents and marks from use, checkering shows wear.
