This carbine features iron mounting with blue barrel, case-hardened frame, walnut buttstock, iron patchbox and sling bar on left side (no ring present). Rifle operates by use of lever that allows barrel to tip forward. These were made with no forend. Folding ladder military rear sight with dovetail front. These carbines saw extensive use during the Civil War, especially with the cavalry. All metal finish dark brown patina. Walnut stocks are very good, darkened from age with no cracks. No visible inspector marks. Strong rifled bore. Working order. Patchbox intact.
