Steel two-stage barrel, rifled bore, serial no “1” stamped at breech along with encircled “US’ and eagle’s head. Flintlock marked “HARPER’S/FERRY/1814” vertically on tang and stamped with an eagle with “US” within the shield. Brass furniture and patchbox containing worm, ball puller, several patches and old balls. Front two ramrod ferrules steel. Walnut half-stock. Fair condition. Barrel with grey patina with areas of very heavy pitting and center ramrod ferrule replaced. Lock reconverted with one lock retaining screw broken, but present, scattered marks and dents, brown patina. Brass with mellow patina. Stock is good with large area of wood replaced in front of lock, wrist repaired and scattered marks from use.
