Manufactured 1943. Right side of frame is stamped “United States Property M1911A1 US Army”. Has the verified cross-cannon Colt proof mark that started at serial number 710001. Left side of frame has “F.J.A.” for Frank Atwood, along with proof “P”. All proper small checkered parts to include trigger, short wide spur hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, slide stop and safety. Slide has proof “P” on top and pony in center. Blued barrel has “P” on left lug and is stamped “Colt .45 Auto”. Has the brown Keyes-type grips, no “K” star, numbered "6" and "4". Has a fine bore and perfect action. Gun is a refinished blue-grey soft patina
