These were manufactured from 1873 to 1875 using a combination of percussion and newly made parts, approximately 6,500 produced. This example is for the far scarcer centerfire cartridge. These revolvers featured a solid lug, full round barrel, five shot, single action, rebated cylinder with stagecoach hold-up scene, varnished one piece walnut grips and fully nickel plated. Revolver has all matching numbers (except wedge not numbered) and razor sharp legends. Walnut grips are excellent but slightly undersized. Traces of nickel loss on backstrap. 90% cylinder scene. 80% cylinder nickel. 85% frame nickel. 50% barrel nickel. This model was made without a loading gate. Perfect action. Strong, excellent rifling. Lock-up tight as new. These little cartridge Pocket Navy’s were extremely popular in the years immediately after the Civil War and this one remains in far better than average, all original, untouched condition.
