Round smoothbore steel barrel marked with two British proof marks on left side near breech. Flat lockplate with double line border and marked “Tower” vertically at tail and with a large crown over the letters “GR” in the center. Typical brass Paget style furniture, iron J-shaped carbine ring bar opposite lock. Plain walnut stock with brass nose cap, iron swivel ramrod. Three brass tacks directly behind barrel tang and one brass tack on right side of buttstock and on toe of butt. Very good condition. Steel components have dark grey patina with some areas of light pitting, markings excellent. Brass with dark unpolished patina. Stock is good with scattered marks from use and several nails from broken off tacks on right side of buttstock, some chipping around absent cavity on forend, where sling swivel once was. A couple small slivers missing along barrel. Carbine ring missing from bar.
