A&B) Numbered in their own series and manufactured from 1853 to 1856, these revolvers fall into the 1856 range. Typical second models with the large iron trigger guards, backstraps and enlarged nipple recess. Top of barrel address “Col. Colt London”. These were originally blue and case hardened but both revolvers are now a soft patina. Both have the usual British proof marks found on left side of barrel and cylinder. All matching numbers including loading lever and wedge to include barrel, wedge, lever, frame, cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap. Gun A) has the original one piece walnut grips, retaining approximately 80% original varnish and can be read on the inside channel. Gun B) has the original one piece varnished walnut grips, but an escutcheon is installed on right side. Grip is numbered in pencil on the inside channel, but is not readable. Both revolvers have 30-50% of the Naval battle scene visible. Both revolvers index perfectly and have strong visible rifling. Overall, an extremely nice pair of period as found London 1851 Colt Navys.
