Manufactured 1940. Chambered for one of the more popular calibers, the .257 Roberts, this is a standard pre-war that features the rear barrel collar with folding leaf sight, ramp front sight with no hood, and checkered pistol grip walnut stock with straight comb. Receiver has the pre-war stripper clip cut. Rifle sports a Tasco 3x9 scope with Weaver mounts. Serial number is not etched on bolt. Barrel shows a hint of light muzzle wear, otherwise metal retains approximately 99% original finish with the exception of the floorplate and trigger guard, which have some storage marks and light freckling. Wood is excellent but does show some usual normal abrasions and impressions. Fine action. A fine pre-war Model 70 in a great caliber.
