This frame is a Colt United States Property manufactured in 1917. Left side of frame has the “G.H.S.” Inspector mark (Gilbert Stewart 1915 - 1918). The slide is a Springfield Armory 1911 slide manufactured 1914 - 1917. This is a typical product of the World War II rebuild/reissue program that incorporated numerous parts from both eras and then the gun was re-parkerized. Parts list as follows: World War II short checkered trigger; checkered spurless World War II hammer; checkered safety; serrated slide stop; blued magazine stamped “C-R”; barrel stamped “HS” for Hi Standard on right lug, with proof “P”; Keyes style brown composite grips with reinforcing ring. Near mint bore and fine action. Retains approximately 95% re-parkerized finish with high edge wear.
