This rifle was obviously part of the British lend lease program as evidenced by the red painted stripe on forend, which was used to indicate non-British caliber, and the British broad arrow on the right side of the stock. Barrel is dated 10-18 and was manufactured by Eddystone. Forend, rear sight, and collar have the Eddystone stamp. Eddystone bolt release and safety. Left side of the frame is stamped with the number 20, bolt is stamped 20. Metal retains approximately 90% of the dull military matte finish. Stock is very good with a chip on left toe. Inventory marked “A347” on stock, bolt and buttplate. This gun is all Eddystone marked and remains in as issued World War II condition as a lend lease rifle. Very good bore and action.
