This is an unusual early J.P. Sauer Weatherby in that it is chambered for the Winchester caliber. Has a ported barrel, blued finish, and no sights. Drilled and tapped on receiver with brass filler screws and some finish loss. Stock has an extremely coarse basket weave hand checkering with contrasting pistol grip cap with white diamond and forend tip, roll over Monte Carlo comb, Pachmayr recoil pad; and sling eyes. Aside from the wear at scope mount, the balance of rifle retains the majority of the factory blue finish on metal. Wood is excellent with a couple of minor impressions. This is the first Winchester caliber Weatherby of this era that we have seen. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this firearm will be given to Ducks Unlimited Canada.
