Manufactured at Bridgeport, this deluxe Busniess rifle was shipped to J.P. Lower Denver, Colorado June 16th, 1880. Barrel stamped “J.P. Lower Denver, Col.” and “Old Reliable – Sharps Rifle Company, Bridgeport, Connecticut”. Has a Lawrence folding rear sight, hooded globe front sight, pistol grip checkered walnut stock with Sharps checkered steel shotgun buttplate, set trigger, checkered walnut forend with pewter tip and set trigger. Frame colors have turned soft grey with sharp legends. Screws retain generous amounts of original blue finish. Barrel finish is a blue-grey patina with razor sharp legends. Oil finished stocks are excellent, proud to metal, no cracks or chips. Strong rifled bore with minor abrasion. Perfect action. Missing the rear tang screw. Excellent example of Sharps deluxe Business sporting rifle sent to one of the most famous addresses of the West. Comes with Sharps letter. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this firearm will be given to Ducks Unlimited Canada.
