Octagonal rifled barrel with patent breech and two silver bands, top flat marked “A McCOMAS / * / BALTIMORE”. Back action lock also marked “A. McCOMAS” with scroll engraving at tang and a hunting pointer with double set triggers. German silver furniture engraved with scrolls and daisies, including a two piece patchbox, a silver inlaid dog on the cheekpiece and a stylized eagle behind the cheekpiece. Figured walnut half stock with checkered wrist. Very good condition. Barrel lightly pitted overall with an even grey patina with some pitting around the breech. Lock retains a grey patina with some darker areas; hammer replaced. Unpolished German silver furniture, engraving sharp. Stock excellent as refinished with some light wear to checkering.
