Octagonal rifled barrel; unsigned. Flat percussion lockplate stamped engraved with a pheasant and marked “LONDON / WARRANTED” with double set triggers. Brass furniture including unique 3-1/2” ramrod furls, faceted and with rings in the center and at each end. Full sideplate engraved with acanthus leaves in the center and borders. Pierced four piece brass patch box with an engraved daisy finial, each side of lid engraved with daisies and scrolls, and lid engraved with a deeply cut fern. Silver wrist escutcheon and finely engraved eagle inlay above the cheek piece. Four engraved octagonal barrel key escutcheons on either side of the forend. Wear plate on the toe extends from buttplate to rear trigger guard tang cut and engraved with symmetrical tulips and detailed borders. The forend wearplate is pierced with two ovoids and engraved with tulips and daisies. Finely figured full length maple stock in the typical Berks County form. Wrist with diamond section checkering and decorated with brass pins. Very good condition, barrel has brown patina with some light pitting around the breech. Lock with some pitting on the lockplate retaining a dark brown patina overall, hammer spring loose. Brass furniture is excellent, showing little wear retaining a mellow patina. The stock is very good with a break around the forend and scattered marks from use. Some wood on right side of barrel tang is missing.
