Octagonal rifled barrel stamped “J.M. WATSON / ALTOONA, PA.” with front and rear sight with sprigs of engraving in front of and behind rear sight. 20 gauge shotgun barrel of the same length below and is numbered “48” near breech. Dual back action percussion locks, both stamped “JOSEPH GOLCHER” and stamp engraved with fowl hunting scenes. Brass furniture includes trigger guard with spur, buttplate, and two piece patchbox with round lid and double set triggers. Left side of buttstock has a German silver inlay of a squirrel eating a nut above the cheek piece. Figured walnut buttstock of typical Lancaster form, double wooden ramrods mounted with steel furls on each side of the barrels. Very good condition. Barrels retain an even brown patina and have excellent markings. Patina on both locks matches the barrels. The nipple on right has been replaced. Brass has been polished.
