Two-stage unmarked barrel, smoothbore, bayonet stud located on top of barrel. Flintlock banana lock, probably French. European style brass furniture. Curled trigger. Full-length figured maple stock with extensive relief-carved foliage behind triggerguard tang and ramrod entry ferrule, as well as forward of triggerguard, replaced wooden ramrod. Relief carved borders with tear drops around lock and sideplate, integrated into beavertail carving behind barrel tang, brass nosecap. Very good condition, barrel has been cleaned in some areas, spotted brown patina overall. Lock has been reconverted to flint, some surface rust on lockplate and around touch-hole. Brass shows some repairs and retains mellow patina. Stock is good, carving shows slight wear, the last 13 inches of fore-end has been restored. Scattered marks from use.
