Octagonal rifled swamped barrel; rear sight with flip up leaf for additional yardage. Banana lockplate is unmarked, double set triggers. Plain brass furniture of Germanic style, Jaeger-type trigger guard decorated with deeply fluted moldings. Relief carved full length walnut stock with horn nose cap and sling swivels. Sliding wooden patchbox with molded border. Left side of buttstock with large fluted cheek piece, relief carved on one end with a large clamshell and on the other end with a smaller stylized shell. Relief carved clamshell around barrel tang, in front of trigger guard and behind ramrod entry furl. Relief teardrop carving around sideplates and lock. Replaced wooden ramrod with bone tip. Good condition, barrel retains a brown and grey spotted patina. Lock has been reconverted using contemporary parts including frizzen, pin, frizzen spring, cock and screws. Lock retaining screws also replaced. Replaced lock parts are unfinished. Stock is very good with scattered dents and marks from use; small crack stemming from front of lockplate.
