Octagonal smooth bore barrel with unique engraved brass ring separating barrel stages as well as two 7-3/4” inlaid brass engraved panels on each side of the sight. Original flintlock lockplate stamped “PHILADELPHIA”, reinforced cock, roller frizzen, and waterproof pan. Brass furniture including trigger guard with thumbnail at front finial and entry furl with cut-out thumbnail, open nose cap. Full length figured maple stock retains the original finish and has typical Bucks County form. Very good as found condition, this rifle is completely in the black, untouched and unpolished. Barrel retains dark brown patina with some scuffing and light surface rust, brass inlays on barrel have very dark patina and are unpolished. Lock is the original lock and in original flint configuration. Brass furniture is unpolished. Stock is very good with some scattered scuffs and marks from use but has all original finish including some crazing and areas darkened by dirt.
