Round rifled steel barrel with front sight/bayonet lug and rear Buffington sight, marked “V/P/eagles head/P/A” at breech with Model 1873 breech block and lock marked with standard Springfield markings, standard 1884 furniture, and serrated trigger. Full length walnut stock mounted with steel cleaning rod with encircled P behind trigger guard tang and cartouche dated 1885. Complete with bayonet marked “US” at top of triangular blade and missing locking ring on socket. Fair condition with excellent shiny bore. Steel components retain a mostly brown patina with light surface rust and some traces of blue finish. Stock good with scattered scratches and marks on butt and some losses to finish. Fore end also has a few chips. Bayonet with brown patina.
