Round rifled steel barrel with front sight/bayonet lug and Buffington rear sight, two barrel bands, both stamped with “U”. Barrel marked at breech “V/P/eagles head/P/A”. Breech block marked “U.S./MODEL/1873”. Flat lock plate marked “U.S./SPRINGFIELD” and stamped with eagle. Typical steel Trapdoor mounts with serrated trigger and butt plate marked “U.S.”. Walnut stock full length stock. Good condition, barrel and lock retain a cleaned grey patina with some dark spotting and light pitting. Excellent bright bore. Excellent markings. Steel furniture with traces of blue and showing some surface rust, edge wear, and scattered light marks from use. Stock excellent with some light scattered marks from use. Missing cleaning rod.
