Barrel is stamped "Underwood July 1943" with Ordnance bomb. Has two rivet wide groove hand guard. No visible cartouche on stock. Manufactured 1942 to 1944. Replaced rear battle sight; staked. One magazine. "M" stamped on magazine release. ME reading +2. Metal is a dark military phosphate finish mixing with patina. Rear sight stamped with "H" in shield. Fine bore and action. Typical World War II rebuild with matching frame and barrel.
