Octagonal fluted blued barrel, marked with caliber designation and German proofs on left side towards breech. Blued single shot break action, double set triggers. German proofs on right side. Two piece walnut checkered diamond section grips with blued faceted buttcap. Very good condition. Overall retaining about 80-85% blue finish with some spotting, edge wear and light surface rust. Excellent bore. Grips excellent with a few light marks. Founder and gunsmith George Scharfenberg, who lived from 1831 until 1906, started this company which produced this model, the “Offizier Pistole”. This model began production in 1893, by Scharfenberg, it is often marked on the frame, under the grips, with a stylized "S", as is the case with this example.
