Manufactured 1901. Blued octagon to round barrel with full length blued tube magazine; marked on top flat with Marlin address, patent dates and "25-20 M" at breech". Case hardened takedown lever action marked "MARLIN SAFETY" with blued bolt and loading gate; case hardened hammer and lever; marked "MODEL 1894" on tang. Walnut semi-pistol grip buttstock with hard black rubber buttplate marked "Marlin / M.F.A. Co. / Safety" and checkered panels on each side of grip; varnished walnut forend with diamond shaped checkered panel and blued steel end cap. Excellent condition; barrel and tube magazine retain 80% original blue finish with some areas thinning and turned brown, and some frosting on surface; light muzzle wear and edge wear on octagonal section. Action retains approximately 90-95% of case colors with some wear on takedown lever, some light edge wear and a series of dents around serial number on bottom of action. Lever retains about 40-50% bright case colors, mostly turned to brown. Stocks are excellent with a few scattered marks from use and scratches in finish; right side of forend has one deep dent. Edge wear and scattered marks on the end cap. Very good bore with some corrosion. CORRECTION: Factory research confirms all components. Shipped April 18, 1901.
