Manufactured in 1877. Round steel rifled barrel with full length tube magazine mounted below, two barrel bands with folding two leaf rear sight, steel lever action with saddle ring mounted on left side and thumb print dust cover with checkered oval and tang marked "MODEL. 1873". Bottom of brass block inscribed "J.W. Biddle", walnut buttstock with steel buttplate and three piece steel cleaning rod kit in butt compartment. Walnut fore end. Cody Firearms Records of this Winchester Model 1873 Serial No. 14482 states that it was received in the warehouse in January 6th 1877 and shipped from he warehouse on July 21st 1877. There were no further records available. Very good condition, barrel and tube magazine retain an even brown patina, action retains a spotted brown patina with some light pitting on right side on plate, a few scattered marks from use, stock good as refinished with some splinters of wood missing and scattered marks from use. Fore end has small crack on left side and a small area with losses on right side of barrel band. Bore with strong rifling and some frosting and light corrosion. Some screws are marred.
