Round steel barrels with solid rib marked "NEW BARRELS BY GEO BATE. LTD. BIRMINGHAM" and engraved with scrolls at breech. Side lock hammer actions finally engraved with extensive repeating scrolls and marked "Jno Rigby & Co." on both side plates. Hammers both engraved en suite, bottom opening lever with bottom opening lever with triggerguard bow cut to fit lever, extractors and double triggers. English straight buttstock of highly figured walnut with checkered panels around wrist, engraved steel buttplate, and vacant silver oval escutcheon on bottom. Checkered walnut splinter fore end with engraved release marked "RIGBY'S PATENT". Complete with tan canvas case with leather corners and straps, partition burgundy felt interior. Good condition, barrels retain a dark gray patina with some frosting on surface. Excellent shiny bores, action retains a gray patina with excellent engraving and a few light areas of pitting on triggerguard. Actions tight. Buttstock is very good as refinished and recheckered, buttplate shows significant wear to engraving and stock has a few scatter marks and dents from use, fore end excellent.
