Manufactured 1886. Rifled octagonal steel barrel marked with Marlin address and patent dates and stamped "40 CAL" on top flat near breech; full length tube magazine; lever action with double set triggers; loading gate on right hand side. Plain walnut semi-pistol grip stock with panels of checkering on each side of grip and makers steel buttplate and forend cap. Good condition; all steel components retain a spotted grey patina with the exception of the trigger guard, which retains approximately 70% faded blue finish. Stocks are good as cleaned with some scattered dents and marks from use; comb with a crack on both sides and minor chipping. Good bore with some light corrosion.
