Two stage smooth bore barrel with teardrop shaped brass front sight and centered rear sight surrounded by two lines on each side. Unmarked flat flintlock lockplate, brass furniture including buttplate with thumbnail shaped tang, trigger guard with thumbnail shaped tang, tombstone shaped brass wearplate engraved with a large Pennsylvania German chicken-eagle. Brass sideplate with beveled edges and spurs around rear lock screw. Side opening two piece brass patchbox with pierced heart at the top; lid engraved with a daisy in center surrounded by two stylized stemmed daisies. Patchbox skirt decorated with finely executed scrolls and flowers surrounded by an incised carved outline. Engraved silver Moravian star inlaid above cheekpiece. Full length figured maple stock of typical Bucks County, Pennsylvania form. Long molded cheekpiece with incised carved 'C' scrolls behind it and floral 'C' scrolls on both sides of wrist. Also decorated with incised carving around barrel tang, lock sideplate, and on both sides above entry furl. Wooden ramrod with faux striping and brass tip and open ended brass nosecap decorated with double lines. Very good condition; barrel shows some edge wear and scattered marks from use, retaining a dark brown patina with some pitting around the breech and on tang. Lock has been professionally reconverted and retains a mottled dark grey patina. Brass retains a mellow patina. Stock is very good; toe has been repaired, some losses to wood above front of lock and behind cock, and scattered marks from use.
