Rifled octagonal over-under barrels with silver front sights and silver ribs on each side, engraved with foliage and one side displaying a ramrod with silver ramrod furls. Swivel breech mechanism with a bolster at each breech. Swivel breech mechanism is activated by pulling a trigger forward of the trigger guard which releases the breech making it free to swivel. Breech is engraved on each side with finely executed scrolls and on top and bottom with stiff leaf and Acanthus leaf engraving. Single percussion lock on right side. Lockplate engraved with scrolls and florals and silver side plated on opposite side engraved en suite and signed "GIBBS". Double set triggers. Ornate four piece pierced silver patchbox engraved with checkered panels, Acanthus leaves, 'C' scrolls, flowers, and foliage; vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon with sprigs of engraving at top and bottom. Silver tube for pick mounted below cheekpiece and engraved Moravian star in oval above cheekpiece. Pierced silver plate on left side of buttstock displaying foliage engraving and 'C' scrolls. Silver trigger guard engraved with foliage and Acanthus leaves and full length wear plate from toe to trigger guard bow in engraved with scrolls and florals and pierced with a heart and diamond; checkered bone patchbox release button. Highly figured maple stock of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania form with relief molding along bottom of buttstock. Wooden ramrod with bone tip. Excellent condition; barrels retain an even dark brown patina, ribs have excellent engraving with some areas polished. Lock and swivel mechanism retain a brown patina and mechanism functions well. Silver furniture is mostly unpolished. Stock is excellent as refinished with a few light scattered marks from use.
