Octagonal barrels; one rifled, one smooth bore. Barrels signed "A. * Weikens". Finely striped maple forends on each side of barrels with brass nosecaps; one side having nine silver inlays including heart and teardrop shapes, the other side with a ramrod mounted and five silver inlays. Swivel breech mechanism turns by pulling the front trigger and turning the barrels. Flintlock action on right side with scattered engraving; opposite side with a brass sideplate with engraved borders. Four piece pierced brass patchbox with scroll engraving on lid and finial of a splayed eagle with an engraved heart. Buttstock has 22 silver inlays including half moons, hearts, stars, and teardrops; two silver wearplates on comb. Unique iron and brass buttplate; brass toeplate with four pierced designs. Incised carved with finely executed scrolls on left side of butt behind cheekpiece; bone inlay behind cheekpiece molding with repeating patterns. Very good condition; barrels retains brown patina with some light pitting near breeches and clear signatures. Locks have been professionally reconverted. Silver and brass furniture and inlays retain a mellow patina. Stock is excellent as refinished with some minor chipping around lock and one small sliver missing on forend in front of one lock.
