Brass swamped barrel; flintlock configuration. Lockplate with a sprig of engraving in the center. Brass furniture includes Bucks County type sideplate with beveled edges, trigger guard with star engraved on bow, butt cap with engraved border, and plain brass nose cap. Vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon. Plain walnut stock with relief carved panels terminating in a teardrop around the lock and sideplate. Relief carving with 'C' scrolls around the barrel tang, relief carved moldings around the ramrod channel and entry furl terminating in front of the front trigger guard finial in a incised carved face. Very good condition; brass barrel retains an unpolished patina, lock has a brown patina, frizzen replaced during the period of use. Brass furniture retains a dark patina and shows some marks from use. Possibly restocked, stock is very good as refinished with a repaired crack beneath the lock and a few scattered marks from use.
