Two stage steel blunderbuss barrel; diminutive screwless lock with Bedford County type hammer; bolster chiseled and decorated with a clamshell, silver furniture all extensively engraved with fine scrolls and grotesque faces and fastened with silver pins, large silver quadruped and silver grotesque mask at top behind barrel tang; full sideplate of flat sheet silver engraved with scroll borders and Acanthus leaves and terminating at the rear in an Acanthus leaf; French-style trigger guard with engraved face on finial and foliage on bow; ramrod Entry furl terminating in an Acanthus leaf inlaid with long flowing scrolls inlaid in silver on each side of cane grip. Highly figured burl wood stock with cane grip and bulbous pommel; ebony ramrod with horn tip. Very good condition; the barrel showing some wear around rings and now retaining a dark brown patina. Lock retains a shiny brown patina with some light marks from use. Silver polished around edges, otherwise dark. Trigger guard bow has been broken and repaired at front. Engraving on silver furniture is excellent. Stock is very good as refinished; with some chipping and small losses along forend.
