Two-stage rifled steel cannon barrel, with British view and proof marks, as well as "RW" for maker Richard Wilson. Lock, in original flint configuration, also marked "WILSON." American-made sheet brass buttcap inscribed "FK" and simple triggerguard. Heavy rounded iron trigger. Figured maple full-length stock, carved with relief scrolls around barrel tang, possibly the work of Frederick Sell. Relief panels around lock and lock retaining screws; wooden ramrod. Excellent condition, barrel retains a grey patina and shows some wear with scattered dark spots. Lock very good, hammer with period American modification to shape, frizzen replaced. Brass is unpolished, stock excellent with a few light marks from use, carving is crisp.
